A century, Two Decades and Two Years of Foundation

Every year, Foundation Day also known as  High School Day is being celebrated in our school, ILOCOS SUR NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL(ISNHS). The 9th of March this year 2024 is the 122nd year of this annualy celebration. Events like these may seem tiring and requires a lot of sweat and tan lines , but we ISNHS'ians cannot deny the fact that we had a lot of fun. From the parade, to the field demo and concert for a cost, it is surely a worth it experience for everybody.

In the happened parade, every grade levels and sections of our school participated. Also, it is to represent their respective sections or may I call their family. The parade might be really tiring and a cause of pain in our bones and body, but it really is a privilege to represent our respective sections, grade levels and most inportantly our school.

The field demo started at 9:30 am and ended after more than an hour. It really is hot in the middle of the field, under the sun and here in the Philippines. Watching the performance of every school level, it did not matter for us anymore whether we'll win or not because we know for the fact that having to participate in this event is a winning game.

The concert for a cost started at 2 pm. I told myself that I would go home at 3:30 pm. However, it is true that promises are meant to be broken so I came home at 5 pm. I was killed by my mom's bomb-like mouth but I won't deny it the concert was really fun. It was my first time coming to a such event and I had gathered more than enough confidence to shout things on top of my lungs. It's worth it! For 30 PHP, the concert for a cost was more than worth it.

To summarize it all up, the High School Day was a  memorable event for every student in our school.
I would also like to thank the teachers who taught  us what to do for our field demo. Lastly, the High  School Day is a big help to unite students despite their class, section and grade level.

Third Quarter Reflection

For me, managing the highs and lows of student life in the third quarter can be quite a demanding yet fulfilling journey. This phase typically presents a mix of challenges and achievements that significantly impact my academic path and personal development.

This quarter, I faced tough academic tasks like understanding difficult topics, managing a lot of work, and getting ready for exams. It was tough at times, but I viewed each challenge as an opportunity to get stronger, manage my time better, and get better at solving problems. It showed me that I grow most when I try things that push me out of my comfort zone.

In addition to dealing with academic challenges, I also had good and bad times in my personal life. Balancing school with relationships (which I do not have), hobbies, and taking care of myself can be hard. Sometimes I felt unsure, stressed, or really busy, but there were also times of happiness, success, and feeling proud of myself. All these experiences together make my student life feel well-rounded and complete.

Reflecting on these challenges and achievements teaches me valuable lessons. It shows me where I can improve, helps me value what I've done, and lets me plan for the future. It's normal to face setbacks, and they actually help us learn. Every experience, whether good or bad, helps me become better.

As I move forward through this quarter and beyond, I'll view challenges as opportunities to improve, celebrate my successes, and stay determined in achieving my academic and personal goals.

Celebrating Women's Month is a way to show respect for women's strength, accomplishments, and contributions in the past, and it encourages younger generations to keep fighting for fairness and social justice for everyone.

Balancing Books and Roses: Embracing Solitude

One of the most enduring traditions of Valentine's Day is the exchange of Valentine's cards and gifts. From handwritten notes to elaborate bouquets of flowers, these tokens of affection symbolize love and appreciation. However, for single teenagers and studious students engrossed in their academic pursuits, this day can sometimes feel like a reminder of their solitary status. Yet, amidst the sea  of red roses and heart-shaped chocolates, there lies  an opportunity for these individuals to redefine Valentine's Day and celebrate the most important relationship of all—the one with themselves.

For single students facing the complexities of puberty, Valentine's Day can educe feelings of loneliness and inadequacy. In a society, where romantic relationships are often revered, it's not difficult for them to feel unfulfilled. However, instead of submitting to societal pressures, single teenagers can use Valentine's Day as a time for self-reflection and self-love. Engaging in activities they enjoy, pampering themselves, spending quality  time with their family and friends can all attribute to  a fulfilling and meaningful celebration of love and romantic entanglements.

Similarly, for study-focused students immersed in textbooks and lecture notes, valentine's day might seem like just another day in the pursuit of academic excellence. These students find themselves buried in assignments and reviews while others may be exchanging gifts and confessing their love. However, validating the importance of self-compassion and self-care amidst of their rigorous academic schedule is essential for them. Pampering ones self, acknowledging the fact that they need to accept and appreciate themselves for who they really are and spending their time with the things that makes them happy is a gesture of love, a love for ones self.

To sum it all up, Valentine's Day holds a different significance for single teenagers and studious students, but it doesn't have to be a day of melancholy or indifference. By embracing the concept of self-love and self-care, individuals in these groups can transform valentine's day into an opportunity for personal growth and appreciation. Whether it's through spending time with loved ones,  indulging in favorite activities, or simply treating themselves with kindness, celebrating love in it's purest form—the love for oneself—can make valentines day a truly meaningful and fulfilling experience.

For extra, being single is fine, and being in a relationship is a part of growing up. Let us not rush these kind of things because we're still young.

National Children's Month 2023

NATIONAL CHILDREN'S MONTH 2023

Being a kid is such a fast and memorable event in one's life. A moment of your life where you're just living life and not trying to survive. A phase of our lives where we are still naive and innocent, a phase where we want to become adults without knowing that it's the opposite when we're already one.

National Children's Month is celebrated annually every november to emphasize the rights of every child to grow up in a safe, nurturing environment, free from harm and discrimination, ensuring they have access to education, healthcare, and opportunities to thrive. This very moment reminds people to take care of children and respect their rights as how they want themselves to be respected by others too. These children may not know anything but they have feelings too, they're a human being. They deserve to be loved, respected and cared for, which would led them to also do these things in the next generations. Children do what they see so do something good that would influence to do good things to others.

This day should be celebrated because it shows that we precious them. This world is full of cruelty and chaos. Show your future children that you really love them and that they're special. Don't forget to spread love to everyone.
