My Writer is a Hero!

Heroes are known for saving people's lives. when talking about them, who comes in mind first? Generally, Jose Rizal is considered as the national hero of the Philippines. among all the heroes in our country, he is what comes in our minds first. What was Jose Rizal's greatest contribution to Philippine society? He used his intelligence and skills in writing.

Jose Rizal used  his skills in writing to open the minds of his fellow Filipinos. He wrote the Noli Me Tangere which contains all of the observed  sickness of our country which is known as the "kanser ng lipunan".  He wrote all of his observations in his book. He wrote all of the abuses every Filipino experienced and the bigger people using their power to get what they want from everyone of us. He published this book which was read by every Filipinos.

Their minds were opened when they read this book and was encouraged to fight for their rights as a human being but also as a Filipino in their very own country. He again published his book entitled "El  Fili Busterismo" which shows his patriotism. His love for his country is incomparable, even if it's not safe for him to do something against the colonizers, he still did everything that he could do to save his fellow Filipinos and his country even if it means his death. He did everything for our country to have freedom and to have a bright future. And now, we  finally have this freedom.

Jose Rizal may not used a sword like our other heroes did but he used his pen to open the minds of the people. He opened their minds using a simple pen and a paper with all of his skills and purpose which is more than enough. Let us not forget about this legend who also saved our country.

Visit now that it's Fiesta to have a Good Siesta

Are you looking for a place to visit? A place where you will enjoy not just the tourist spots but the hospitable and kind people itself? Well, Vigan should be on your number 1 list. You sure will enjoy here, especially now that we are celebrating the Vigan Fiesta. From watching parades, marching band competitions, street dancing, and enjoying rides at the carnival. When talking about foods, Empanada is a must. After enjoying Vigan Fiesta, you sure will have a good siesta.

Watching the grand parade participated by employees, teachers and soldiers and the one and only mayor Bonito in the day of Fiesta. In this parade, the marching band of three different schools was the most awaited. With their lively and danceable music accompanied by the twirlers and the synchronized moving flags are the mainstays of the audience. Watching them with my own two eyes, makes me want tobe a part of the marching band too. When watching parades, always be coordinated so that you can have your free sweets and candies.

Visiting museums are also  what you shouldn't let slide. This ancestral house that was owned by the late Floro S. Crisologo, a well-known congressman in his time. Today, this ancestral house has been turned into a museum, home to hundreds of memorabilia that would give you a sneak peek into the past. Of all the things inside of the museum, the car was probably the one that stood out the most. The kitchen or "la Cocina" was undeniably attractive for tourists. It looked really antiquated with its worn walls and numerous cooking knick knacks. The most interesting artifact in the whole museum is located at its ground floor. Here, a table housing Floro Crisologo’s apparel along with photographs when he was shot is showcased.

Every tourist will always look for the natural beauty of the place they're visiting. When coming here in Vigan, visiting the baluarte zoo should be a part of your list. People love both nature and history. In Baluarte , a zoo, taxidermy museum and a safari hotel could be accessed.  The safari hotel also known as the "golden tower". This hotel not just amazes the visitors by its view but is really helpful for the people living here, as they can stay here whenever there's a flood.

Among all the tourist spots here in Vigan, Calle Crisologo is the most known. Here you can spot stunning spanish ancestral homes. Calle Crisologo is worth visiting both day and night. Each timezone has it's own charm and features. At day you will be enjoying the numerous antique souvenir shops around, as well as little museums like the Father Burgos Museum and the Crisologo Museum. Make sure to take a ride in the Spanish-style horse carriage called "kalesa". This way you can enjoy the tour around the ancestral home in this street. Visiting calle crisologo at night is even more worth it than during the day. The already picturesque cobblestone streets will be brightened up by aesthetic lamps throughout the area, a wonderful sight to behold indeed. This is something you would have to see for yourself. Also it will be time for you by then, to have a great dinner in one of the Calle Crisologo's nice restaurants.

Visiting Vigan is one of the best choices I've ever made. I've always wanted to go to places where I can appreciate the beauty of the past and our history. With this, Vigan didn't fail me. From the parades, museum, zoo and the streets of Spanish colonial homes, I can really feel the excitement to visit here again. Having to enjoy riding the kalesa and trying the vigan empanada bring out the kid inside of me. I had not just fun but also the happiness that even for just a couple of days, I had the chance to enjoy every single moment of this visit. I will visit here again soon but of course I will go home first with my pasalubong.

New Year, New Me: Failed, Reflect and Succeed

New Year Celebration is the most awaited day every year. Everyone might not be able to celebrate Christmas because of their beliefs but everyone can celebrate the new year regardless of their religion. People would always say "New Year, New Me" but what does it mean?

For me, celebrating new year is like having a good rest after a long tiring day. People have ups and downs in their lives. These problems makes everyone's lives miserable that sometimes we just want to give up. These problems makes people doubt their abilities and themselves. Problems makes people's lives unstable. But is problem really just that? Problem is a lesson in disguise. They might make our lives unstable and miserable but it teaches us how to do things the right way and it teaches us how to be stronger. It teaches us that failing is okay. Failing is something that reminds us all of the things that we've been through to get to where we are now. When people fail, they try again and reflect. So after that long tiring day that we failed to succeed, let us try again the next day and reflect with our mistakes yesterday.

When failing, it makes us more motivated to try again and reflect from our mistakes. This is what brings out the better version inside of us. This is my understanding about the people's saying "New Year, New Me".

Christmas Break: Season for Love and Happiness

Christmas is the season for happiness, piece and unity. All throughout the year of having ups and downs, people will always have a space in their heart to feel the essence of Christmas. Here in the Philippines, people would decorate their homes starting at September and we call this "Ber months" . The months: September, October, November, and December.

Christmas has come around once again. They say that this is the season of merry-making and rejoicing with your family, friends and relatives. After having busy months, weeks and days with all of our works and school, we have forgotten to make time for our family and loved ones. It's like being deserted on an island alone. So now, I just want to use this time to celebrate the holiday with my loved ones. Making time for our family is the most priceless thing that we can do to really feel the Christmas. So let us take our time and enjoy.

Christmas is a celebration that is marked by happiness, harmony, goodwill, and meditation. Always try to make time for your loved ones to strengthen the communication, love and bond with them even more. Being away from them, reminds us to value the importance of their presence in our lives.

Reflection

In this quarter, I have learned that competing with your classmates won't make  you any better, you're just giving yourself  a challenge that you will never succeed on. But when we compete with ourselves, challenge oneself to do better, and fight our laziness when doing school  works will make you a better one. We don't need to compete with others and be envious of what they can do, we need to be competitive with ourselves to show that we are capable of the things that  we thought we could never do. "Remember that we are competing with ourselves and  learning with others".

Getting easily distracted have been always the challenge that I can't cope. I always  try my best to focus, and concentrate on what I'm doing so I  can move onto another work so it won't be time consuming. When there's a simple  sound that I hear,  I easily forget  what I'm doing, sometimes I even forget what  I'm thinking just because of  a  sound.

I addressed this challenge by going to a quiet and calming place like the library. Sometimes by brainstorming  with  my friends so that there is only one  topic for us to think of.

With these techniques, I can improve myself  in not getting distracted  easily. I will  maintain these doings for me to focus and concentrate with  the tasks that I need to accomplish.

Plant seeds, Harvest needs!

The environment is lacking of care and love from people, us people, who gets a lot of benefits from it. We risk more but care less. There are some who cares a lot but most of us don't.

Proclamation No. 244 declaring september of every year as national clean up month and the 17th to the 23rd of september of each year as the world clean and green week. This was declared for us to be reminded of the responsibilities and duties to do as an individual who takes a lot of part as the environment' care taker. If we know how to take care of ourselves, our families and our home, we should not forget to love and take care of our environment, the environment who sustains our needs. The environment sustains us our veggies and fruits, spices, and herbs used as our medicine. If we don't take care of it, it'll backfire in the future which will result us to a toxic environment and shortage of sources.

Water your plants

Clean your garden, water your plants. Let us remember that loving the environment starts in our home. Influence others to be a good care taker of the environment.

Message for our mighty president, Bong bong Marcos Jr.

Having the responsibility as the highest leader of our country, the Philippines, just by thinking about it is not easy. You showed courage and dedication that you want to make our country a better place and follow your father's steps. Your late father's dream is to make our country a better place, in which he did not fail his fellow Filipino's, he did all the things that he can do  as a president and as a Filipino, dreaming of the bright future that the next generation will have someday.

At the election, a lot of people voting for the other team, threatened your life and even some had cut your wrists. Despite the threats and the hate that people throws at you, you remained calm and unbothered even if what they say is out of line. People especially teenagers always uses your name to  make fun of and to ease their anger because of the lose of the other party's president. You said nothing, because you know in yourself that you can very well handle the position that the majority of Filipino did to make you win. The majority of elder people who voted for you, hoping that you will do all that you can to do the responsibilities of a president and hoping that you will do the things that you father did to help a lot of Filipino in his time.

People gave you the chance to prove yourself. A lot of  Filipino's are waiting for the time that the history will repeat itself, and you're the destined one to claim that.
